The XX
03/30/10 20:47
“XX” was an album I didn’t discover until the end of 2009. Since then, i’ve had The XX’s debut album on heavy rotation. Check it out and buy online from Other Music. I get a kickback, thank you.

My friend Clark found this CD-ROM in a library book. He gave it to me because of the cover. On the label it reads, “We Are Not Saints” with a pitchfork on the left side. As for the music, it was exactly what Clark and I guessed would be ... disco anthems and 80’s pop.

100th Anniversary of Akira Kurosawa
03/01/10 21:05
Turner Classic Movies (TCM)
“100th Anniversary of Akira Kurosawa's Birth - Tuesdays in March.
A 26 movie tribute to possibly the most celebrated Japanese filmmaker of all time; highlights include early work such as Sanshiro Sugata (1943) and later masterpieces like Ikiru (1952) and Ran (1985).”
Too bad i don’t have cable television. I’ve seen all of Kurosawa’s samurai films, but I haven’t seen his later dramas. Maybe i should purchase Criterion’s AK100 set?
